My name is Anthony Freitas. About twenty years ago, a friend invited me to join a Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) business in the health and wellness niche. At the time, I had a full-time career in sales and was looking for a way to supplement my income. I hesitated for a while; eventually I gave in and joined.
I remained involved for several years. However, I ended up spending more money than I earned. My involvement in that business led me to start searching online for other opportunities. During that time, I came across an advertisement for a course that promised to teach me how to gain ten leads a day. I thought this would help me succeed in my MLM business; instead, it cost me a lot of money and did not deliver the results I was hoping for.
That one purchase placed me on an email list. Soon, I found myself receiving endless promotions for other products and programs. This was the beginning of a very expensive journey: I kept buying one product after another, always from a new vendor, and always ending up on yet another mailing list.
Over the years, I spent thousands of dollars on products and software that I never used. I eventually realized that I had been caught by what is known as “Shiny Object Syndrome.” At that point, I made a firm decision: I unsubscribed from nearly every email list and stopped buying.
I chose to stay connected with just a few trusted vendors, all of whom were focused on affiliate marketing with Amazon. Their courses were solid; however, each had a different approach. In time, I settled on one mentor whose strategies I resonated with the most. I have followed her ever since, and I have never regretted that decision.
Today, my focus is clear. I am an affiliate marketer building my own websites; I am continuously learning new approaches and applying the latest techniques as I grow. My journey in internet marketing has been long, difficult, expensive and, at times, frustrating. Yet it has also given me invaluable lessons that I can now share with others.
